Relayers Raise almost £3500 for Stand Up To Cancer

Relayer’s from this year’s Relay For Life joined forces with friends and family to collect nearly £3500 for the Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

Members held a collection in Plymouth City Centre, and at Drake Circus, during what turned out to be a very wet Abseil Challenge. Relayer’s raised just under £1500 from the collections, whilst the adventurous ones, raised over £2000 in sponsorship to complete the abseil down the side of Drake Circus.

Stand Up To Cancer is an initiative between Channel 4, and Cancer Research UK, where the money raised goes directly to fund translational research which speeds up the time that the research takes to benefit patients directly.

The Channel 4 programming on Friday night was given over to the Stand Up To Cancer fundraising evening, and collectively raised more than £15million!
