Plymouth Raiders supports Relay For Life Plymouth

Plymouth Raiders Basketball Team are the first of Plymouth’s sports teams to get behind Relay For Life Plymouth.

Foxy, the Raider’s Mascot helped us celebrate our launch at Drake Circus on Saturday, meeting and greeting visitors to the shopping centre, and those who stopped by our stalls to find out more about Relay For Life, and of course buy their World Cancer Day Unity Bands.

Plymouth Raiders are letting us into their coming fixture on the 23rd February to spread the Relay love and providing lots of other promotional opportunities for us to let as many people know about our community fundraising event for Cancer Research UK.

Relay For Life is an event like no other, where teams of families, friends and colleagues get together, raising money for Cancer Reseach UK, then we all come together at the end of July for the main Relay For Life event, a 24 hour walk, which is taking place at Brickfields.

The Raiders are also the first of Plymouth’s sports clubs to have a team of supporters enter this year’s Relay. Event Chair Jason Brockman says “It’s great to have them on board, Relay For Life is a whole community event, and it’s fantastic that Plymouth Raiders are able to get involved”.

Teams can be made up of any groups of people, friends, families, teams and colleagues, everyone is affected by cancer, and this event reflects that, so whether you are young, old, fit or not so, you can all come together and help us beat cancer sooner.
