Committee attend NPCL Fun Day
Our first outing as a new committee, and we went to support one of our member’s works fun day, at North Prospect Community Learning.
There were lots of charity stalls, as well as fabulous cake and an entertainer banging out hits from all the years. The fundraising on the day was divided between the centre, and Devonport Fire Families along with CRUK.
As a first day out promoting Relay for Life in Plymouth, it was great. All that we spoke to really liked the idea of Relay for Life, and wanted more information. We were able to fundraise a bit, with collection tins, and we also had the Blast Cancer game which was popular with the children.
We had a chance to meet with Chaz Singh, one of the ward councillors who listened to what Relay was about, and offered to help in any way that he could, with contacts at the council, in business and at the University which he could put us in touch with.
We’re now looking forward to taking Relay out on the road at lots of community events to speak to the people of plymouth to let them know all about it. Find out more about our news on our Facebook page
